What does FDM stand for?

FDM stands for Financial Data Management although more broadly it stands for Financial Data Quality Management. The EE (see above) stands for Enterprise Edition.

As author Tony Scalese explains: Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, Enterprise Edition, (FDMEE) is a critical component within the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite of products.

While the value and use of products like Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Hyperion Planning is readily apparent to their target audience, the value of FDMEE is one that is often misunderstood or underestimated. In this book, I provide a deeper dive into many of the foundational metadata elements in an effort to provide an administrator with a better understanding of each component as well as their interdependencies. Additionally, this book will provide information about how to effectively own and manage the application by exploring such topics as: integrating new data sources, unlocking overlooked user interface features, and troubleshooting. This book will empower an administrator and in doing so provide an opportunity to realize an even great return on your FDMEE investment.

This book is not intended to be a replacement for formal product training or the administrator guide provided by Oracle. Instead this book is a supplement and assumes a certain level of knowledge about FDMEE. Functionality described in this book is assumed for the release of the product except where otherwise noted.
